Child Care for WA introduced a 2025 legislative agenda (English/Spanish) to make progress toward child care that works for providers, families and the economy as a whole.
In this extremely challenging budget climate, we are asking lawmakers to preserve or minimally reduce early learning investments in the proposed budgets from the House and Senate, and we appreciate their long-term commitment to early learning and child care.
Child Care and the 2025 Legislative Session
What’s at stake for children and families?
Early learning is precious time that children cannot get back. Maintaining funding for child care and early learning will support child development, mental health and school readiness for our littlest learners, for many years to come.
Washington voters want our legislature to support child care.
Recent polling shows that Washingtonians overwhelmingly want the legislature to invest in child care. And in last November’s election, voters in nearly every county overwhelmingly approved the capital gains tax to help fund early learning and child care.
