Who They Are:
The Early Educator Design Team formed in 2022, with ~30 child care providers coming together to design provider-driven solutions to the workforce crisis. The team comes from all corners of the state and fill roles representing all types of child care in Washington.
Their Vision:
All families – beginning with those most in need – have access to affordable, quality early care and education opportunities.
Leading Washington on Policy Solutions
- 2022: The Design Team begins, spending a full year listening and learning from each other about the different struggles facing providers across Washington
- 2022: Platform for Child Care: The Design Team creates their provider-driven policy solutions to support educators in all parts of the child care system
- 2023: Recommendations: The Design Team works with with CCA of WA and the Department of Children, Youth, and Families to create recommendations around fully funding a Cost of Quality Care Rate Model
